Beat The Heat

CHALLENGE:

Reward Consumers for their Continued Loyalty.

TXU Energy was looking for help in developing an appropriate ‘thank you’ gift for a category of its most loyal customers.  The item needed to be simple, but yet make an “unexpected” impact.

ILLUMINATION:

The most well received gifts are often the most basic – but with a twist!  We wanted customers to know they were appreciated and sought to create an opportunity that would deliver this message on multiple occasions.

APPROACH:

To extend the brand messaging supporting the benefits of Average Monthly Billing and sharing energy costs over the entire year, we secured a partnership with Sonic® Drive-Ins to provide TXU Energy customers the chance to keep cool during the 100° weather with Free monthly drinks and ice cream, and a special Beat the Heat Thirst Card to enjoy savings all summer long.

SUCCESS:

Facebook postings highlighted consumer and family appreciation for the free drinks and treats.  The program and partnership with Sonic was more than just a free offer of a fountain drink or an ice cream float – it created the opportunity for TXU Energy to fit into the consumer lifestyle and be a part of summer experiences.
